A self-hosted photo and video backup, the open-source alternative to Google Photos or iCloud Photos.
Immich backs up photos and videos from a phone automatically, the same way Google Photos or iCloud does: same face recognition, same searchable timeline, same "memories"-style features. The difference is those photos live on a drive here, not in a data center being scanned for ad-targeting.
It's personal-account based, so it's not open to everyone the way Circle is, but the idea behind it is the same one behind this whole project: photos are worth more kept than rented out.
